US poker rooms: which casinos actually deal poker
There is no national answer to "where can I play poker in the United States". Poker is regulated state by state, the rooms open and close with demand rather than with the law, and the single most common way to waste an evening is to drive to a casino that advertises poker and find a dealer-banked table game waiting instead.
So this hub is built the slow way. Each room gets its own page, and each page says what the property itself publishes about its poker offering and the date we read it. Where a casino turned out not to spread player-versus-player poker at all, we published that as a record too, because a verified absence is the more useful fact.

Read the room, not the sign
"Poker" on a casino's game list is not evidence of a poker room. Heads-Up Hold'em, Ultimate Texas Hold'em, Face Up Pai Gow Poker, Let It Ride and their relatives are house-banked table games: you play against the casino on a fixed paytable, there is no pot and no other players to beat. A poker room, in the sense this site uses, is player-versus-player with the house taking a rake or a seat fee. Before a venue appears here as a poker room we look for the things that only a real room has — table counts, a game list with stakes, a daily tournament schedule, a waitlist. That check is why some well-known properties are listed here as having no poker, Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City among them.
Las Vegas is two scenes, not one
The Strip rooms are the ones everybody names: the Bellagio, Aria, the Wynn and The Venetian, which between them host the highest-stakes tournament series in the world and the heaviest cash-game traffic in the country.
The locals' circuit is the other half, and on table count it is not the smaller half. The Orleans runs the largest room off the Strip at 35 tables — larger than most Strip rooms — with Red Rock Resort at 20, Green Valley Ranch in Henderson at 15, Santa Fe Station in North Las Vegas at 14, Boulder Station at 10 and Westgate at 7, alongside South Point and the Golden Nugget downtown. Lower rake, smaller games, and a regular crowd rather than a tourist one. For a week in town rather than a weekend, that is where the week goes. Our Nevada page covers the valley in detail.
The casinos with no poker room
Several large properties are on this site precisely because they do not have one. Resorts World Las Vegas advertises no poker room on its gaming pages. Durango Casino & Resort, among the newest properties in the valley, lists table games without poker. Gold Coast, long associated with poker in older guides, no longer advertises a room. In Atlantic City, Ocean Casino Resort lists only house-banked poker variants and runs no poker room at all. Each is published with the page we read it on. Guides that were written once and never re-checked are the reason players still drive to all of them.
The biggest rooms are not all in Nevada
The largest American poker rooms are spread much more widely than the Las Vegas reputation suggests, and three of the biggest sit on the East Coast and in the Midwest.
The Poker Room at Live! Casino & Hotel in Hanover, Maryland runs 50 tables around the clock and is a regular World Poker Tour stop. Parx Casino at Bensalem, Pennsylvania runs more than 48, and spreads the deepest mixed-game list on this site: Limit Hold'em to $150/$300, Pot Limit Omaha to $100/$100 and mixed games advertised up to $300/$600. Borgata in Atlantic City is the East Coast's tournament room, carrying more than $2.3 million in guarantees in a single October.
Below them sits a second tier that is easier to actually get a seat in: Foxwoods in Connecticut, where Seven Card Stud still runs to $75/$150 and two separate bad beat jackpots are posted; Rivers Casino Philadelphia at 28 tables; Choctaw Durant in Oklahoma at 27, a WSOP and WPT host; Wind Creek Bethlehem at 20; Potawatomi in Milwaukee at 15; and Riverwind near Oklahoma City.
One absence is worth naming. WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma — 55 tables, and for years the nearest casino poker room to a very large north Texas population — listed poker among its temporarily closed operations when we read its page in October 2026.
Beyond the casino rooms
The rest of the country splits along state lines, and the differences are large: card rooms operating under their own state framework in California and Texas, commercial casino rooms across the Gulf and Midwest, tribal rooms in much of the west, and several states where no live poker room exists at all. Our state pages set out the position one state at a time, including the ones where the answer is no.
What a table count means
It means the size the room itself publishes. Rooms expand and contract with demand — most visibly in Las Vegas during the summer series, when temporary tables appear and disappear within weeks. Treat a count as the room's own estimate of itself rather than a guarantee, and treat anything about legality here as general information rather than legal advice.
Frequently asked questions
Which Las Vegas casinos have poker rooms?
Verified rooms include the Bellagio, Aria, Wynn, The Venetian, The Orleans, South Point, Westgate, Golden Nugget, Red Rock, Green Valley Ranch, Santa Fe Station and Boulder Station. Each page states what the property publishes and the date we read it.
What is the biggest poker room in the United States?
Among the rooms verified here, the largest currently operating are Live! Casino & Hotel in Maryland at 50 tables and Parx Casino in Pennsylvania at more than 48. WinStar in Oklahoma describes a 55-table room, but listed poker as temporarily closed when we read its page in October 2026.
Which big casinos have no poker room?
Among the properties we checked: Resorts World Las Vegas, Durango Casino & Resort and the Gold Coast in Las Vegas, and Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City. We publish those as records too, because a wasted trip is the cost of guessing.
A casino near me advertises poker. Is that a poker room?
Not necessarily. Heads-Up Hold'em, Ultimate Texas Hold'em, Face Up Pai Gow Poker and three-card poker are house-banked table games played against the casino, not against other players. Look for a table count, stakes, a tournament schedule or a waitlist before making the trip.
Where can you still play Seven Card Stud in a casino?
Foxwoods in Mashantucket, Connecticut is the clearest example on this site: its October 2026 game list ran Stud at $1/$5, $5/$10, $20/$40 and $75/$150, and it posts a separate Stud bad beat jackpot.
Are the table counts exact?
They are the counts the property itself publishes, and rooms expand and contract with demand — most visibly during the summer series in Las Vegas. Treat a table count as the room's own size estimate rather than a guarantee.
Is online poker legal in the United States?
It depends entirely on the state, and licensed online poker exists in only a few. Our state pages set out the position for each one; this is general information, not legal advice.
