Poker rooms and casinos by country: which venues actually deal poker

This is our index of live poker venues by country: casino poker rooms, dedicated card clubs and the licensed poker clubs that exist in some markets. It also records venues that do not deal poker, which is the part most venue directories leave out and the part most likely to save you a wasted trip.

The question this index is built around

Does this place actually deal poker against other players?

That sounds trivial. It is not. Across Europe and North America a large number of casinos list Poker in their game offer when what they deal is a dealer-banked table game — Ultimate Texas Hold'em, Heads-Up Hold'em, three-card poker, Bavarian Texas Hold'em and others. Those are casino games played against the house with a fixed edge. They are not poker in the sense anyone reading this page means, and the venue has every commercial reason not to draw the distinction for you.

So for each venue we try to establish whether there is player-versus-player poker — a cash game or a tournament against other players — and we say when we could not establish it, rather than assuming.

We publish the negatives

A verified entry saying a room spreads no poker, or that a club has closed, is a real record and often the most useful page for a market. Among the things we have recorded this way: the Fitzwilliam in Dublin closed in December 2019; Casinos Poland publishes no game list, so whether its tables are player-versus-player remains explicitly unresolved on our Polish venue records rather than being guessed at; and several Alberta and German casinos are recorded with their poker offer marked unverified because the house's own pages do not settle it.

If a venue record here says we do not know, that is the finding, not a gap we forgot to fill.

Country habits worth knowing

German Spielbanken usually publish their poker offer under a general house or game-offer page rather than a dedicated poker section, so the absence of a poker page on a German casino site tells you nothing. UK and Austrian casinos are among the most likely to list a house-banked variant under the word poker. In Japan the live game is played at amusement poker clubs under a different legal model entirely, so those records need reading in that context, which our Japan market page provides. In Romania, poker clubs are licensed individually, so an address appearing on the regulator's register tells you a licence exists, not what is dealt there.

How to read a venue record

Each record carries the address and city where we have it, the games listed, the table count where published, the operator's own website, and — on every record — the source we read and the date we read it. Venue facts go stale faster than most people expect: rooms close, table counts shrink, and a poker room becomes a slots floor without an announcement. Records past their review interval go back into a queue to be re-read against the venue's own page.

We read one page at a time from a venue's own site. We do not crawl, and we do not take a room's existence on the word of a directory or an affiliate page — one of those described a casino group as four operating venues more than a year after the last one had closed.

This page is general information. Minimum age, identification requirements and the legal position on live poker vary by country; each market page covers its own.

Frequently asked questions

Does every casino that lists poker have a poker room?

No. Many casinos list poker when they deal a dealer-banked table game such as Ultimate Texas Hold'em or three-card poker, which is played against the house rather than against other players. We try to establish which it is for each venue, and we say when we could not.

Why do some venue pages say a room has no poker?

Because a verified negative is useful. Knowing that a room does not spread poker, or that a club has closed, saves a wasted journey, and those records are often the most valuable pages in a market.

How current are the table counts and games?

Each record carries the date we last read the venue's own page. Venue facts go stale quickly, so records past their review interval are queued to be re-checked rather than left to age.

Why does a German casino's site have no poker page?

German Spielbanken typically list poker inside a general house or game-offer page rather than a dedicated poker section. A missing poker page is not evidence that the house has stopped dealing poker.
