Live poker tournaments in Germany: Spielbank schedules and the championships
German live poker has no single flagship festival. It runs instead on the state casinos — the Spielbanken — each with its own weekly schedule, and on two regional championship series that run as year-long rankings. The result is a calendar made of dozens of small, cheap, regular tournaments rather than a handful of large ones, which is unusual in Europe and genuinely good for recreational players.

What the German calendar actually looks like
Buy-ins on the records below mostly sit between 60 and 330 euro. Spielbank Berlin's Casino am Potsdamer Platz runs a tournament every day of the week at buy-ins from 80 to 220 euro, including a 4-Card Pot Limit Omaha Ante event on Wednesdays, an NLH Survivor on Mondays and a Bounty Hunter on Saturdays. Spielbank Wiesbaden runs weekly Monday tournaments and a monthly Deep Stack Sunday. Spielbank Stuttgart has Lucky Wednesday and a Sunday Evening tournament. Casino Konstanz runs a Sunday tournament, and Casino Schenefeld near Hamburg a Sunday Monster Stack at 220 euro.
In Bavaria, the Spielbanken Bayern houses run ranking tournaments that feed a single championship: Feuchtwangen on Fridays at 110 euro plus a Thursday Knock Out Bounty at 80 euro and a 60 euro Sunday Special, Bad Steben on Fridays, Bad Reichenhall on Wednesdays and Garmisch-Partenkirchen on Friday and Saturday nights.
This is the part of German poker that visitors miss. There is a game most nights of the week somewhere in the country, at a price a recreational player can absorb.
The two championships
The Spielbanken Bayern Pokermeisterschaft is a year-long ranking across the Bavarian houses, with its eleventh edition's ranking tournaments running through 22 October 2026 and the Finale at Feuchtwangen from 23 to 25 October 2026 at a 1,000 euro buy-in. The Baden-Wuerttembergische Pokermeisterschaft runs on the same principle out of Casino Baden-Baden.
A ranking series is worth understanding before you play one: the qualifying tournaments are cheap, and the value is in accumulating ranking points over months rather than in any single event. It rewards players who live near a Spielbank and play regularly, which is exactly who it is designed for.
Before you travel to a German casino for poker
Check that the house actually deals player-versus-player poker. German casinos list poker in their game offer, and in a number of cases what is meant is a dealer-banked table game rather than a tournament or a cash game against other players. German Spielbanken also tend to publish the poker offer under a general house or game-offer page rather than a dedicated poker section, so an absence of a poker page does not mean an absence of poker. Our German venues page records which houses we have verified either way, including the negatives.
Dates and verification
Every schedule here was read from the operator's own page or schedule PDF and carries the date we read it. Weekly tournaments are recorded with the recurrence we found published, not inferred, and they go back into our re-check queue on a short interval because casino schedules change without announcement. Where a source publishes a schedule PDF with a validity date, we record that too.
This page is general information, not legal or financial advice. Buy-ins exclude any rake or fee the house adds at registration unless the source stated otherwise.
