Poker venues in Romania: one licensed poker-club operator, two casinos
Romania is unusual in Europe: it licenses poker clubs as a separate category from casinos, which means the register itself tells you where real poker is legally organised. In the ONJN's September 2026 register exactly one company holds a poker-club licence, and it runs three rooms. Two casino licences exist alongside them, and at one of those the game called poker turns out to be played against the house.

The three licensed poker clubs
POKER TM S.R.L. is the only holder of a Romanian poker-club licence in the register, under licence L1223966D001392, valid to 31 March 2032. It covers three venues:
Poker TM Cocor, Bucharest — in the basement of the COCOR commercial complex, Bulevardul I.C. Brătianu 29-33, sector 3, central Bucharest.
Poker TM Iași — the group's room in Iași, in the north-east.
Poker TM Promenada, Craiova — the group's room in Craiova, in the south-west.
What the licence establishes is the category: these are poker clubs rather than casinos with a dealer-banked card game on the table list. What the register does not establish is the live offer. It publishes the licence, not the games — no stakes, no opening hours, no table counts and no tournament schedule — and we have not yet verified any of that against the rooms' own information. Call ahead before travelling.
Platinum Casino, Bucharest — read the small print
Platinum Casino on Calea Victoriei holds casino licence L1190089C001016, valid to 30 September 2029, and advertises poker prominently. Its own poker page says the player does not compete against other players but plays only against the dealer: the Ultimate variant of Texas Hold'em, alongside Three Card Poker and Caribbean Stud, all house-banked. No blinds, table stakes, rake, tournament schedule or poker-table count appears anywhere on the site.
That matters more than it sounds. In a house-banked card game the player plays against a fixed paytable with a built-in margin for the house and there are no opponents to out-play. Someone travelling to Bucharest for a cash game or a tournament should not come here on the strength of the word poker. Two games on that page, Omaha and Chinese Poker, are named without saying who the player plays against, so a small residual possibility of a real game is unverified rather than excluded.
The second casino licence
A second casino licence in the register covers an address on Calea 13 Septembrie in Bucharest. It is a casino licence, not a poker-club licence, and we hold nothing from the venue's own information about whether player-versus-player poker is dealt there.
Why the licence category is the thing to check
Across Europe a casino game list naming poker is routinely a dealer-banked variant. Romania makes this easier to check than most countries do, because a poker club needs its own licence class. If you want to know where organised player-versus-player poker is licensed in Romania, the poker-club list is the answer, and today it is one operator with three rooms.
Licence numbers, validity dates and addresses are from the ONJN register as published in September 2026 and read on 2 October 2026; the Platinum Casino game descriptions were read on its own site on 16 October 2026. Registers change. This is general information, not legal advice.
Frequently asked questions
How many licensed poker clubs are there in Romania?
One licence holder, POKER TM S.R.L., running three rooms — in Bucharest, Iași and Craiova — under ONJN poker-club licence L1223966D001392, valid to 31 March 2032.
Where can you play poker in Bucharest?
Poker TM Cocor, in the basement of the COCOR complex on Bulevardul I.C. Brătianu, is the licensed poker club in the city. The register does not publish its stakes, hours or schedule, so check with the room first.
Does Platinum Casino Bucharest have a poker room?
Not a conventional one, on its own published information. Its poker page describes Ultimate Texas Hold'em played against the dealer, not against other players, alongside Three Card Poker and Caribbean Stud.
Why does Romania license poker clubs separately?
Romanian gambling law treats a poker club as its own licence category, distinct from a casino licence. For a player that is useful: the licence class itself distinguishes an organised poker room from a casino offering house-banked card games.
Do you publish stakes and tournament schedules for the Romanian clubs?
Not yet. The ONJN register records licences, not games, and we have not verified the rooms' own stakes, hours or calendars. We publish what we have read and say plainly what we have not.
