SkyCity Hamilton weekend Texas Hold'em
17 Oct – 31 Dec 2026 · SkyCity Hamilton, New Zealand
SkyCity Hamilton's player-versus-player Hold'em is a fixed weekend game rather than a tournament series. Two tables run every Saturday and Sunday from 4pm until late, and the registration process is unusual enough to be worth knowing before you travel.
The list opens at 3pm on both days and is managed by text message to the venue's poker phone on 021 549 323. The first eighteen names on that list are then randomly assigned seats at the two tables; everyone else joins a waiting list and comes in as seats free up. Because seating is drawn rather than first-come, texting the moment registration opens buys you a place in the draw, not a guaranteed seat.
Entry to the casino is restricted to age 20 and over, and carded play applies — a SHOW by SkyCity card or valid Premier Rewards card is needed to take a hand. The casino states that availability and opening hours of all table games are subject to staffing levels, so this game can be pulled. Two other games on the same floor carry the word poker and are not this: Ultimate Texas Hold'em, dealt against the house daily from 4pm, and Three Card Poker, dealt against the house Thursday to Sunday from 6pm.
