Natural8 in Vietnam: the sport-of-skill umbrella stops at the website

Vietnam has risen faster in poker than any country in Asia, and it has done it with a legal framework that does not quite admit the game exists. Clubs in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Da Nang run tournaments under poker's recognition as a sport of skill; gambling itself remains prohibited for Vietnamese citizens; and no online poker site is licensed.

We read Natural8's terms and conditions in full from the operator's own page on 14 October 2026. They contain no list of permitted countries, no list of restricted countries, and no mention of Vietnam anywhere — the only places named in the whole document are Curacao, Anjouan, Malta and the British Virgin Islands. So the operator has not excluded Vietnam, and it has not said Vietnam is permitted. This page sets out what it has said, and what Vietnamese law says. General information, not legal advice.

The sporting umbrella does not cover a website

As our Vietnam page sets out, gambling is prohibited for Vietnamese citizens under the Penal Code, and organising gambling is punished more severely. Casinos exist but are licensed for foreign passport holders, with a pilot scheme at the Corona Casino on Phu Quoc as the one route for qualifying citizens.

Poker's position is genuinely different from ordinary gambling: it is recognised as a sport of skill by the Vietnam Bridge and Poker Association, and the clubs in the big cities run tournaments under that umbrella. The line is thin — police have raided clubs judged to be running cash gambling — but it is why a Vietnamese tournament scene exists at all.

That recognition is organisational and domestic. It attaches to sanctioned competitions at recognised clubs, not to an account on an offshore website. Online poker on an international site remains illegal for citizens, even though prosecutions of individual players are rare. Rare is not the same as lawful, and the risk is the player's.

What the terms say about Vietnam: nothing at all

We searched the document for a restricted-territory clause, a permitted-country list, and for Vietnam by name. None is present.

Two sections that look as though they might carry a list do not. Clause 7, RESTRICTIONS, is about conduct — not using the site beyond the agreed purpose, not reselling or licensing the service onward, not transmitting unlawful material. Clause 14, PROHIBITED USES, covers cheating and illegal behaviour and reserves the operator's right to prohibit any player from any game. Neither names a territory.

The closing disclaimer is the operator's position: it is your sole responsibility to ensure that you have the legal right to use the services from within the jurisdiction you reside in or access them from; it is not the operator's intention that anyone should use the services from any jurisdiction where online gambling is illegal; and the availability of the services or website in any jurisdiction should not be construed as an offer, solicitation or invitation. Your participation is at your sole decision, and you accept the full risk.

For a Vietnamese reader the practical translation is that the room is reachable and Vietnamese-language support exists, while the operator declines to say whether you may use it and the law says citizens may not. If the question matters, ask a Vietnamese lawyer.

Who actually operates Natural8

The introduction to the terms says Natural8 is operated by Run Good N.V., registration number 150149, of 9 Abraham de Veerstraat, Willemstad, Curacao, and that Natural8 is governed solely by the laws and courts of Curacao, exclusively and without exception. Clause 26 repeats that the conditions are governed by and interpreted in accordance with Curacao law.

The footer adds the rest. Run Good N.V. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hume Tree Investments Limited, registration number 1902601, of the Vistra Corporate Services Centre, Road Town, Tortola, VG1110, British Virgin Islands. The licence is not Curacao's: the site states that Natural8.com is licensed and regulated by the Government of the Autonomous Island of Anjouan, Union of Comoros, under licence number ALSI-192407036-FI2.

The complaints route follows the licence. Clause 25.5 says that if no resolution is reached, or you are unhappy with the one reached, you may seek external resolution from the Gaming Board of Anjouan, while clause 26 keeps the contract under Curacao law. A Vietnamese player with a serious complaint is dealing with a Comoros regulator, a Curacao contract and a British Virgin Islands owner, and with no Vietnamese route at all. It is published rather than hidden, and it is the most important thing to understand before depositing.

What happens to your balance

Clause 6.2 deserves credit: customer money is held in a Designated Account used solely to hold players' balances, the account is not used for any operational purpose, and its balance is audited by third-party auditors to confirm it matches players' total balances so that withdrawal requests can be met. Clause 6.3 adds that the money attracts no interest.

Segregated player funds with a third-party audit is a meaningful protection that not every offshore room claims. It is still a contractual claim rather than a regulator's guarantee, and the auditor is not named.

Signing up, verification and withdrawals

Age. Clause 2.1 requires you to be at least 18 and to meet the minimum age in your local jurisdiction to contract with the operator, and excludes employees and contractors of the company and its group companies. Clause 3.1.1 restates 18 or any higher legal age applying to you.

Identity and money. Clause 3.1 has you warrant that your registration details are correct and that deposited money is not derived from illegal activity. Clause 3.2 commits the operator to Curacao anti-money-laundering rules, including filing a suspicious transaction report with the competent authorities and being prohibited from informing the player. Clause 3.4 authorises verification checks.

Withdrawals. Clause 3.5 is the practical one. Before a withdrawal request can be processed, the operator must collect a copy of your identity document — a current government-issued photo document such as a passport or driving licence — and a proof of address evidencing your residential address, such as a bank statement, utility bill or tax bill, **dated not more than 90 days before submission**. Submit them at sign-up rather than at cash-out.

Payments are processed by MoneyMatrix Ltd, a Malta company registered as C64593, and by Run Good N.V. Vietnamese bank cards are generally not a route, so e-wallets and crypto are the usual ones.

What players get

Natural8 is a skin on the GGPoker network rather than a standalone room: clause 13.2 makes acceptance of the Security & Ecology Policy a condition of play, and that policy is published on GGPoker's network site. For a Vietnamese player it means a shared pool and Vietnamese-language support, which the domestic club scene cannot match for volume.

We do not reproduce bonus figures, leaderboard pools or rake-race numbers. The operator can vary promotions at its discretion and a figure verified weeks ago may be wrong today. Read the offer on the operator's own promotions page on the day you sign up, with the bonus policy beside it.

Tax, and the better-protected game

Vietnam taxes prize winnings above a threshold as personal income, so large scores can in principle be assessable; the practical position for offshore online winnings is unclear and genuinely worth professional advice rather than a guess on a page like this.

The better-protected game is the domestic one. The Triton Super High Roller Series came to the Hoiana resort near Hoi An in 2023, tour stops have visited Ho Chi Minh City, and the club scene runs daily tournaments under the sporting umbrella. Nguyen Le, Khoa Anh Ngo and Minh Phu Dao are on our player pages, and the Vietnam tournament pages carry the calendar.

Frequently asked questions

Does Natural8 allow players from Vietnam?

Its terms do not say. Read in full on 14 October 2026, they contain no list of permitted or restricted countries and do not mention Vietnam at all; the only places named anywhere in the document are Curacao, Anjouan, Malta and the British Virgin Islands. The closing disclaimer makes it the player's sole responsibility to ensure they have the legal right to use the services from their own jurisdiction. General information, not legal advice.

Poker is recognised as a sport in Vietnam — doesn't that cover online play?

No. The recognition by the Vietnam Bridge and Poker Association attaches to sanctioned competitions at recognised clubs, and even there the line is thin — clubs judged to be running cash gambling have been raided. Gambling remains prohibited for Vietnamese citizens under the Penal Code, no online poker site is licensed, and play on an offshore site is illegal for citizens even though prosecutions of individual players are rare.

Who licenses and operates Natural8?

Per its own terms, Natural8 is operated by Run Good N.V., registration number 150149, of 9 Abraham de Veerstraat, Willemstad, Curacao, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hume Tree Investments Limited (registration 1902601) of Road Town, Tortola, British Virgin Islands. The site states it is licensed and regulated by the Government of the Autonomous Island of Anjouan, Union of Comoros, under licence number ALSI-192407036-FI2.

Which law applies if something goes wrong?

Clause 26 puts the conditions under the laws of Curacao, while clause 25.5 directs an unresolved complaint to the Gaming Board of Anjouan. The governing law and the regulator sit in different jurisdictions, neither of them Vietnam.

Are player balances kept separate?

The terms say so. Clause 6.2 states that customer money is held in a Designated Account used solely to hold players' balances, not used for any operational purpose, and audited by third-party auditors to confirm it matches players' total balances. Clause 6.3 states it attracts no interest. The auditor is not named.

What do I need before I can withdraw?

Clause 3.5 requires a copy of a current government-issued photo identity document, such as a passport or driving licence, and a proof of address such as a bank statement, utility bill or tax bill dated not more than 90 days before submission, collected before a withdrawal request can be processed.

How are winnings taxed in Vietnam?

Vietnam taxes prize winnings above a threshold as personal income, so a large score can in principle be assessable. How that applies to winnings from an offshore online room is unclear, and it is a question for a Vietnamese tax adviser rather than for this page.
