GGPoker Vietnam: what Vietnamese players need to know

GGPoker lists Vietnam among the markets it serves and has become the online home of a generation of Vietnamese players who are now winning at the WSOP and on the Triton series. Gambling remains illegal for Vietnamese citizens, so start with the law.

Is GGPoker legal in Vietnam?

No online poker site is licensed in Vietnam, and gambling is an offence for citizens under the Penal Code, with organisers punished more severely. Live poker survives under its recognition as a sport of skill through the Vietnam Bridge and Poker Association, but that umbrella does not cover offshore websites. Prosecutions of individual online players are rare; the risk is nonetheless the player's. This is general information, not legal advice.

What GGPoker offers Vietnamese players

A Vietnamese-language client and support, the WSOP Online bracelet series, GGMillion$ and the Sunday majors, cash games from micro stakes with Rush & Cash and All-In Insurance, and the Fish Buffet rewards programme. Deposits go through e-wallets or crypto rather than Vietnamese bank cards; minimum age 18.

Alternatives

Natural8 shares the GG player pool with Asia-focused promotions and Vietnamese support, and CoinPoker is crypto-only. WPT Global's own terms exclude Vietnam, so we do not list it. Live poker runs in the clubs of Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Da Nang under the sporting model, and the Triton series has visited Hoiana near Hoi An.
