The dedicated poker room at SkyCity Auckland sits on Level 3, one floor above the main casino floor and reached by the stairs at Level 2. It is the busiest live poker room in New Zealand and runs cash games and tournaments seven days a week.
Cash games are No-Limit Hold'em at $2/$3 (buy-in $100-$400), $5/$5 ($200-$1,000) and $5/$10 ($500-$3,000), plus Pot Limit Omaha at $2/$3 ($100-$400), $5/$5 ($400-$1,500) and $5/$10 ($500-$3,000). Rake is 10% capped at $15 on the smaller games and $20 at $5/$10, with a $1 jackpot drop on Hold'em only. Every game carries an optional live straddle of two big blinds, and a Royal Flush in a Hold'em cash game qualifies for the room's Royal Jackpot.
The room opens 6pm to 2am Monday to Friday and noon to 4am at weekends. Entry to the casino is restricted to 20 and over, and since SkyCity moved to carded play you need a SHOW by SkyCity card or a valid Premier Rewards card to take a seat in any game, cash or tournament. Accepted photo ID includes a current passport or a current New Zealand or Australian driver's licence.
