GGPoker Germany: the licence verified against the official GGL register

GGPoker is available in Germany through ggpoker.de, and that permission is not a marketing claim: it appears in the Gemeinsame Gluecksspielbehoerde der Laender's official whitelist, the public register the GGL is required to publish under section 9(8) of the 2021 State Treaty on Gambling. We read that register on 7 October 2026. This guide sets out what the entry actually says, what is different about the German version of the room, and what to expect once you sit down.

Is GGPoker legal in Germany? What the register says

Yes, and it can be checked rather than taken on trust. Germany's whitelist is organised by company, not by brand, which is why the word GGPoker does not appear in it: the entry reads **NSUS Malta Limited**, game type Online-Poker, permitted website **ggpoker.de**, supervised by the GGL, first permitted on **25 November 2022**. Four other companies hold a German online poker permission - bwin (bwin.de), Ladbrokes (bpremium.de), 888 Germany (888.de) and Reel Germany (pokerstars.de) - and that is the whole licensed market. A room absent from the register, under any of its corporate names, is not licensed to take German players.

Two practical points follow. First, the permission names a website, so it covers the .de site and not the international .com one; a German address on the international site will be redirected. Second, licensed operators are separately obliged under section 6e(3) to state on their own front page that they hold a German permission and which authority granted it - a check any player can run in seconds.

What the German licence changes

The licence brings German rules with it: a cross-operator deposit limit of 1,000 euro per month by default, applying across every licensed operator combined, with a higher limit available on proof of income; the nationwide OASIS self-exclusion register; identity verification before your first deposit rather than after it; a cap on how many tables you can play at once; and a 5.3% tax on stakes that the operator pays and generally passes on through rake and fees. What German players get

ggpoker.de shares tables with the global GG network, so the player pool is far larger than any German-only site could offer. Verification is mandatory under the German licence and comes before your first deposit.
