Poker in Colombia — live rooms, the Winner Poker Series and how it is regulated
Colombia has one of the most active live poker scenes in Spanish-speaking South America, and it is unusually concentrated: one group, Winner Group, runs the poker rooms that carry most of the country's cash game and tournament traffic, and one circuit — the Winner Poker Series — supplies most of the big guarantees. The closing stage of the 2026 series runs at Casino Hollywood Medellín from 21 October to 2 November.

Who regulates gambling in Colombia?
Games of chance in Colombia are regulated nationally by Coljuegos, the state industrial and commercial enterprise that administers the gambling monopoly, licenses operators and collects the levies that fund the country's subsidised health system. Colombian casinos are licensed businesses rather than a grey market, which is why the live tournament calendar is public and the guarantees are advertised openly.
This is general information, not legal advice. Rules change, and your own tax position depends on your circumstances — check with Coljuegos or a qualified adviser for anything that matters to you.
Online play: the authorised list is the list
Colombia licenses online gambling, and Coljuegos publishes the register of who holds an authorisation. Its own wording is plain: if you are of legal age and you live in Colombia, you may register on any page authorised by Coljuegos. The authorisation is granted to a Colombian-registered company for one named website.
As the register stood on 13 October 2026 it listed fourteen operators: Wplay.co, Betplay.com.co, Betsson.co, Zamba.co, Codere.com.co, Luckia.co, Sportium.com.co, Rushbet.co, rivalo.co, Yajuego.co, Bwin, Stake, Betano and mryoker.co. Every one is a general sportsbook-and-casino brand. Not one is a dedicated poker room, and the international poker networks that advertise to Colombian players are absent from the list under any of their corporate names.
Coljuegos also sets the practical conditions: the address registered on a player's account must be in Colombian territory, deposits go in by debit or credit card, rechargeable cards or cash at physical points such as Efecty, Baloto and Paga Todo, and the minimum age is the age of majority — 18.
One honest caveat. The register tells you which companies are authorised; it does not itself set out which products each authorisation covers, so whether a given authorised site may deal player-versus-player poker as opposed to casino games is a separate question we have not settled from that page.
Where the live poker is
Winner Group — which states it is part of CIRSA — runs the country's poker rooms under several casino brands. Its own poker page names three rooms as interconnected, sharing a cash-game progressive that rises in real time plus a bad beat jackpot it advertises from 20 million pesos:
- **Casino Rio Bogotá** — Av 19 #122-64, in the north of the capital. - **Casino Rio Medellín** — Cl 34 #43-79, Antioquia. - **Casino Rock 'n Jazz Bogotá** — Cl. 82 #13-35, near Zona Rosa.
Two further venues appear on the same page among the group's poker locations, outside that jackpot network: **Casino Caribe Centro** at Cra. 7 #21-70 in central Bogotá, and **Casino Hollywood Bogotá** at Centro Comercial Bulevar Niza, Local 181. For **Casino Hollywood Medellín** — Cra. 43A #3 Sur 60, Local 101, El Poblado — the group's poker page marks the cash poker room as coming soon, which sits alongside, not against, the fact that the venue hosts the festival calendar: the Winner Poker Series tournaments play there regardless.
As ever with casino poker, a table labelled poker is not always player-versus-player play. Where we have not confirmed the format, the venue page says so.
The Winner Poker Series
The Winner Poker Series is the country's flagship circuit, and Winner Group calls the Medellín stage the closing stop of the 2026 edition. It runs from 21 October to 2 November 2026 at Casino Hollywood Medellín, and we have published all eight tournaments individually:
- **Main Event NLH** — 2,200,000 pesos, 800,000,000 advertised, six starting flights from 26 to 31 October, final day 2 November. - **NLH High Roller** — 3,000,000 pesos, 300,000,000 advertised, 23–25 October. - **Second Chance Mystery Bounty** — 1,500,000 pesos, 180,000,000 advertised, 31 October to 1 November. - **Progresivo K.O.** — 1,300,000 pesos, 150,000,000 advertised, 28–29 October. - **Mini High Roller PLO5 K.O.** — 1,400,000 pesos, 70,000,000 advertised, the only Omaha event on the schedule, 1–2 November. - **NLH Open** — 800,000 pesos, 200,000,000 advertised, three flights 21–23 October. - **Deep Stack Turbo** — 700,000 pesos, 50,000,000 advertised, 25–26 October. - **NLH Closing Turbo** — 700,000 pesos, 50,000,000 advertised, one day on 2 November.
If you are travelling for one of these, the satellites matter: Open satellites run at 85,000 pesos, Main Event satellites at 230,000 and High Roller satellites at 310,000, all with re-entry, which is a substantially cheaper route in than the direct buy-in.
A note on the guarantee figures
Every figure above is what the organiser advertises, not a banked prize pool. Worth knowing too: the eight individual event guarantees add up to 1,800,000,000 pesos, while the festival headline figure is 2,200,000,000. The two numbers come from different places in the organiser's own material and we have not reconciled them — so treat the headline as marketing and the per-event numbers as the ones to plan around.
Playing responsibly
Poker is entertainment and a game of skill played for stakes — it is not an income, a way out of debt or a route to a different life, and nobody should treat it as one. Set a budget before you sit down and stop when you reach it. Colombia has official gambling-help lines; if play stops being fun, use them.
