GGPoker Argentina: what Argentine players should check before signing up

GGPoker accepts Argentine players on its international site. Argentina has no national gambling law, though — each province licenses its own operators — so the useful question is not just whether you can sign up, but what is licensed where you live, and who holds the licence that does apply. Is GGPoker legal in Argentina?

Argentina regulates gambling province by province, with no national licence. The City of Buenos Aires licenses online gaming through LOTBA and Buenos Aires Province through IPLyC; roughly fifteen jurisdictions regulate online gaming in some form, and a licence in one does not carry over to the next. The provincial regimes were built around sports betting and online casino rather than poker, which is why Argentine players have historically used international rooms. With no national licence and provincial regimes that were not built for poker, the licence actually behind the site is the one to know. The international ggpoker.com platform is operated by GG International Limited, incorporated in the Isle of Man, registered office The Hubb, Queen Victoria House, Victoria Street, Douglas, IM1 2LF, licensed and regulated by the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission under a licence issued under the Online Gambling Regulations Act 2001 on 15 October 2020. So an Argentine player's formal recourse runs through an Isle of Man licensee, not through LOTBA or a provincial regulator. The GG group is not a single company, either: Germany's ggpoker.de is operated by NSUS Malta Limited on the German regulator's whitelist, and there are separately licensed GG brands for the Netherlands, Ontario, the United Kingdom and Romania. Argentina has no local GG brand.
