Do Son Casino
Khu 3, Do Son, Hai Phong · Hai Phong · Vietnam
Vietnam's longest-running licensed casino, and not a poker destination: the published offer is baccarat, roulette and machines.
Do Son opened in 1995, which makes it the first licensed casino in the country by some margin, and it sits on the seafront resort strip south-east of Hai Phong rather than inside one of the newer integrated resorts.
Is there poker?
Not on the published offer. The game list runs to baccarat, roulette and jackpot machines across a floor of some 16,000 square metres, and nothing in it describes a poker room, a cash game or a tournament series. We publish that as a finding rather than leaving the page blank: if you are travelling to northern Vietnam to play poker, Do Son is not the stop.
Who can get in
Vietnam's casinos are foreigner-facing by default. Only three projects — Corona on Phu Quoc, The Grand Ho Tram and the planned Van Don resort — are covered by the government programme that lets eligible Vietnamese citizens play, and Do Son is not among them. Bring a foreign passport.
