VPT Championship III 2026
6 – 18 May 2026 · Corona Resort & Casino Phu Quoc, Vietnam
Vietnam's largest live series of 2026: ninety events and a 66 billion dong guarantee on Phu Quoc.
The Vietnam Poker Tour's third Championship ran for thirteen days in May 2026 in the Crystal Ballroom at Corona Resort & Casino on Phu Quoc, and it is the clearest evidence that large-field live poker in Vietnam works when it is played in the right place.
The numbers
Ninety events were scheduled under a series guarantee of 66 billion dong, about 2.5 million US dollars at the time, with 26 billion dong — roughly a million dollars — guaranteed for the Main Event. The finished series recorded 5,197 entries and a reported total prize pool of 3,161,950 dollars, the largest single payout being 166,250 dollars. Buy-ins were accepted in Vietnamese dong.
What was on the schedule
Alongside the Main Event, the programme carried High Roller events, dedicated Pot-Limit Omaha tables and a deep list of affordable side events and trophy tournaments — the standard shape of an Asian festival, built so that a recreational player can find something at every level.
Why Phu Quoc
Corona is the only Vietnamese casino with permanent authorisation to admit eligible Vietnamese citizens, which is what allows a domestic field to turn up. Hanoi, by contrast, lost three international series in six months between December 2023 and May 2024, and the Hanoi People's Committee was reported to have ordered one of those cancellations outright.
