Erik Seidel

Erik Seidel has been winning at the top of the game for longer than anyone. A former backgammon pro from New York, he finished second to Johnny Chan in the 1988 WSOP Main Event — the hand that ends the film Rounders — and has since collected ten WSOP bracelets (the most recent in 2023 at 63), a WPT title, a National Heads-Up Championship and a €2 million EPT super high roller win. He was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame in 2010.
What sets Seidel apart is that he never stopped adapting: he moved into the high-roller era in his fifties and stayed profitable in it. As of late 2023 his live winnings exceeded $45.5 million. He lives in Las Vegas and still plays the WSOP every summer.
