The numbers, as the database holds them

The Hendon Mob records $3,753,142 in live tournament earnings for Marchington and a best live cash of $1,525,000. His current position on the global all-time money list is 777th; his best-ever position on that list is 700th. The Global Poker Index, which weights recent results rather than career totals, has him 437th.

One result, two-fifths of a career

That $1,525,000 cash accounts for over forty per cent of the recorded total. Concentration of this kind is normal rather than remarkable in tournament poker, and it is the main reason a money-list position is a weak proxy for consistency: one deep run in a large field can move a player past a hundred others who have cashed steadily for years.

Current rank against best rank

Marchington's current and best global positions sit only 77 places apart, which is unusually close. For most players on this part of the British list the two figures diverge sharply, because the global list keeps absorbing new high-roller totals while a career total stands still.
