Fifth on Poland's all-time list, and the owner of one of the best stories in European poker: Malec won the EPT Barcelona Main Event in 2016 for €1,122,800 — $1,271,041, still his best cash — having qualified through a small online satellite. He was 22, largely unknown, and played a final table that a generation of Polish players watched.

He did not disappear afterwards. He was back at EPT Barcelona in August 2026, finishing 21st in the €5,300 Main Event for €40,050, and has played the Triton One Main Event in Jeju. His career total is $3.01m and he lives in Warsaw.
