Royal Dublin Society (RDS) – Irish Open venue
Merrion Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4 · Dublin · Ireland
The Royal Dublin Society in Ballsbridge is not a casino — Ireland has no licensed casinos, and its private members' card clubs operate under a different regime — but for two weeks every March it becomes the biggest poker room in Europe as the home of the Irish Poker Open. The RDS's exhibition halls hold hundreds of tables for the Main Event, the Mini Irish Open, the Mystery Bounty and the rest of a schedule that ran to 89 events and 32,000 entries in 2026, with cash games alongside and a bar-and-live-music social programme the festival is famous for. It is a ten-minute taxi or DART ride from the city centre (Lansdowne Road or Sandymount stations) and surrounded by hotels that fill up months ahead. Outside the festival, Dublin's regular poker runs in members' clubs and at the annual Irish Poker Tour and JP Poker Masters events.
