Spielbank Bad Homburg

Bad Homburg is a famous old casino with a game called poker on the board. It is not poker against other players — it is Ultimate Texas Hold'em against the dealer, and that matters if you are planning a trip.

Why this page exists

Several German casinos advertise "Poker" and mean a house-banked table game. Bad Homburg is one of them, and its own page says so plainly: the game is Ultimate Texas Hold'em, played "gegen die Bank". You are trying to beat the dealer's five-card hand, not the other people at the table, and the casino takes the other side of your bet rather than a rake from a pot.

The terms the casino publishes

The game runs daily from 19:00. The minimum is 4 euros on Ante and Blind, one raise is allowed per hand, and the earlier you raise the larger that raise may be. The top payout is 500 to 1. The dealer needs at least a pair to qualify; if the dealer does not qualify, the Ante comes back provided you did not fold. A Trips side bet can be placed before the cards come out and pays from three of a kind up. A separate 2-euro jackpot wager pays the whole Ultimate Jackpot for a royal flush, 600 euros for a straight flush, 200 for four of a kind and 20 for a full house. The house states an average return between 96.5 and 99.14 per cent depending on individual play, and 89.89 per cent on the jackpot.

No tournaments either

The tournament calendar published for the rest of 2026 holds no poker event at all. What is there is a roulette tournament running 19 to 22 October with the semi-final and final on 25 October for 5,000 euros in total prize money, the Black Jack 1,000er on 11 November with 28,000 euros total prize money and a cap of 28 entrants, and recurring Black Jack tournaments in the slots area on 21 October, 18 November and 16 December.
