Casino Esplanade (Spielbank Hamburg)
Hamburg · Germany
Casino Esplanade at Stephansplatz holds Hamburg's poker floor, and it is a cash-game room. Seven nights a week from 18:45, at €5/€5 or €5/€10 — and, as of a re-check on 16 October 2026, no tournament schedule at all.
The games
Wednesday is Omaha night: Pot Limit Omaha from 18:45, blinds €5/€5 or €5/€10, table stake €200 or €500. Thursday through to Tuesday the floor runs a No Limit cash game in both Texas Hold'em and No Limit Omaha, with the same 18:45 start, the same blinds and the same two table stakes.
The house's published rules confirm these are played between players — two to ten at a table, with the dealer button rotating — rather than against the house, which is worth stating because German casino game lists often include dealer-banked card games under the same heading.
Seats are booked through the house's own online form, choosing the game and the day.
Hamburg is a cash city, not a tournament city
There is no poker tournament published here. Not on the poker floor listing, and not on the group's events calendar, which for the weeks to the end of November 2026 carries concerts, a Halloween party and a salsa night, and nothing involving poker. Across all four Spielbank Hamburg houses — Esplanade, Reeperbahn, Mundsburg and Steindamm — no tournament schedule is published at all.
That is unusual for a German city of Hamburg's size, and it is the single most useful thing to know before planning a trip: a player who wants a tournament in the north is better served by Schenefeld, just outside the city boundary, or by Berlin.
The group's 'Private Poker' package — a bookable poker table for a group of six to ten — is currently listed as not available.
Getting in
Entry is €2 and the minimum age is 18. You need a national identity card or a passport; a driving licence is not accepted, which catches out visitors regularly. Chips are issued against cash only, with cash machines in the building.
The classic-game rooms, which is where the poker floor sits, open 17:00 to 02:00 Sunday to Thursday and 17:00 to 03:00 Friday and Saturday. The slot floor runs 12:00 to 04:00 daily. The house closes on Good Friday, Volkstrauertag, Totensonntag and 24 and 25 December.
The dress code is smart casual at minimum — a collared shirt is asked for in the classic game, and t-shirts without a jacket, shorts and sportswear are named as not acceptable. No dress code applies on the slot floor.
Getting there
U1 to Stephansplatz or S-Bahn to Dammtor. The in-house car park opens 12:00 to 04:00 and is capped at €6 for guests of the house, but it is small and fills on busy nights.
