Jonathan Duhamel became the first Canadian to win the WSOP Main Event in November 2010, beating John Racener heads-up for $8.94 million at 23. Born in Boucherville outside Montreal in 1987, he had qualified online and was barely known before the November Nine.
He proved it was no fluke: three bracelets in total, including the $111,111 High Roller for One Drop in 2015 for just under $4 million and a WSOP Europe high roller the same year, plus an EPT Deauville high-roller title and four final tables at one PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. Duhamel stopped playing professionally in 2021 and now plays only recreationally.
