Eric Afriat

Eric Afriat is the most decorated World Poker Tour player Canada has produced, and his record is unusual for being built largely out of outright wins rather than deep runs. He is 17th on Canada's all-time money list with $6,472,541 in live earnings.

His biggest result, and the one that remains his career best cash, was the $3,500 No Limit Hold'em Championship at the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown in Hollywood, Florida on 10 April 2014, which paid $1,081,184. He won a second WPT Main Event at the Borgata Winter Poker Open in Atlantic City on 28 January 2018 for $651,928, and a third on home soil at WPT Fallsview in Niagara Falls on 21 February 2020. Three WPT Main Event titles put him in a very small group worldwide.

Born in Saint-Laurent, Quebec, Afriat is now listed as resident in Miami Beach, Florida. His global position of 372nd sits a little below his career-best 320th, the normal pattern for a player whose headline results are some years behind him and whose total is being passed by the current generation of high-roller regulars.
