Frequently asked questions
Where was Poker-SM Live 2026 held?
At Banco Casino in Bratislava, Slovakia, from 3 to 10 August 2026.
Why is Sweden's national championship played abroad?
Svenska Pokerförbundet states that the championship is held outside Sweden because of Swedish legislation. A Swedish land-based card-game licence covers only tournament poker in variants with both community and individual cards, and the state casinos have all closed, so a multi-discipline festival cannot be staged at home.
Who can play, and who can win a Swedish title?
Any member of Svenska Pokerförbundet who joined before the event began may play. To compete for a title a player must be a Swedish citizen or registered as resident in Sweden.
What was the guaranteed prize pool?
The championship's own site states a combined guarantee of 360,000 euro across eleven SM events and more than thirty tournaments in total.
Which disciplines award Swedish titles?
Recent editions have awarded titles in No Limit Hold'em (the Main Event), Pot Limit Omaha, Pot Limit Hold'em Hi/Lo, Mörkpoker, Sviten Special, Chicago, H.O.R.S.E., a Deepstack, a club championship and Lagpoker, a five- and six-player team event.
