WSOP Circuit's first Malta stop reaches its €1,500 Main Event
The WSOP Circuit's debut stop at Casino Malta in St. Julian's opened its €1,500 Main Event on 30 September, the eighth of twelve ring events on a schedule that runs to 5 October.
The World Series of Poker Circuit is in Malta for the first time, and the centrepiece of the eleven-day festival at Casino Malta in St. Julian's is now under way. The €1,500 Main Event is Event #8 on the official schedule, with its opening flight on 30 September and the last flight going off on 2 October.
It is a Circuit schedule in the classic sense rather than a European high-roller week: twelve numbered ring events, half of them at €550 or less. The festival opened on 25 September with the €300 Mini Main, and a €300 Colossus, a €300 Ladies Event and a €550 Seniors event all carry the same ring as the Main. The €2,500 High Roller, the largest buy-in of the week, was played on 29 September alongside a €500 Knockout.
Three events remain after the Main Event concludes its flights. A €1,000 Deepstack and a €550 Pot-Limit Omaha share 3 October, the €400 Superstack follows on 4 October, and the €350 Bigstack closes the festival on 5 October.
