Britain's veteran earners have fallen hundreds of places without losing a penny

The Hendon Mob's United Kingdom all-time money list, generated on 6 October 2026, now runs to 69,533 ranked players, and fiftieth place costs just under $3.5 million. Four British profiles read a day later show what that inflation has done to careers built earlier: Ram Vaswani stands 821st on the global all-time list against a best-ever 63rd, and John Duthie 977th against a best-ever 37th. An all-time money total can only rise, so every place lost was lost to somebody else arriving above them.

What the list says now

The Hendon Mob's combined United Kingdom all-time money list, generated on 6 October 2026, holds 69,533 ranked players. Stephen Chidwick leads it with $79,927,052. The entry price for the top forty is a little over $4.1 million, and fiftieth place — Dean Joseph Hutchison, at $3,486,439 — sits just under three and a half million dollars.

Four careers, read a day later

Four British profiles read on 7 October 2026 carry both a current and a best-ever position on the database's global all-time money list. The gap between the two numbers is the story:

Ram Vaswani, 47th in Britain with $3,576,730, is 821st globally today; his best-ever position was 63rd.

John Duthie, 58th with $3,130,432, is 977th today against a best-ever 37th — a fall of 940 places.

Matthew Ashton, 46th with $3,651,611, is 808th against a best of 338th.

Nicholas Marchington, 44th with $3,753,142, is 777th against a best of 700th — the one narrow gap of the four, and the most recent career.

Why a career total can fall in rank but never in value

All-time money lists are cumulative. Nobody is ever removed from one and no total is ever reduced, so a player's position can only worsen when others pass them. Duthie's 940 places were not lost at the table; they were lost to the volume of prize money that has moved through high buy-in events since his peak.

That makes the all-time list a poor read on who is playing well now, which is what the separate form-weighted rankings exist for: Vaswani's own profile shows him 53,758th on the Global Poker Index alongside that 821st all-time position.

The shape of the money matters too

Among the four, three owe between 40 and 49 per cent of their career total to one result. Vaswani is the exception, and a striking one: his largest recorded cash is $231,413, about 6.5 per cent of his total, meaning three and a half million dollars accumulated across a very long run of smaller results. Two players can sit three places apart on the same list having played almost unrelated careers.

A note on the numbers

The ranking page and the individual profiles are generated separately and can disagree very slightly: Vaswani's total reads $3,576,732 on the 6 October list and $3,576,730 on his profile the following day. Where the two differ, the figures published here follow the profile page and say so.

Frequently asked questions

How can a player fall on an all-time money list?

They cannot fall in value, only in position. All-time money lists are cumulative and nothing is ever deducted, so a player's rank worsens purely because other players accumulate past them. John Duthie's recorded total has not shrunk, yet he has gone from a best-ever 37th on the global list to 977th.

What does it take to make the UK all-time top fifty in 2026?

Just under $3.5 million in recorded live tournament earnings. Fiftieth place on The Hendon Mob's United Kingdom list generated on 6 October 2026 was $3,486,439, out of 69,533 ranked British players.

Who leads the UK all-time money list?

Stephen Chidwick, with $79,927,052 recorded, on the list generated 6 October 2026.
