Reno has three poker rooms, Sparks has none — and the three split the week between them

A read of all four big Truckee Meadows casinos' own gaming pages on 6 October 2026 settles the northern Nevada poker map: Peppermill, Atlantis and Grand Sierra Resort all spread live player-versus-player poker in Reno, while the Nugget in Sparks deals four poker-named games and not one of them against another player. The three live rooms have landed on strikingly different price points — Atlantis from $20, Grand Sierra from $50, Peppermill from $135 — and between them publish a tournament on every day of the week.

Nevada poker coverage tends to stop at the Las Vegas city limits, so it is worth stating plainly what the four largest casinos in the Reno-Sparks area actually deal, read from each property's own pages rather than from a directory.

Three rooms spread live poker, all on the Reno side. Peppermill is the largest, with nineteen purpose-built tables plus a separate private tournament room, cash games from $3/$6 Limit up to $25/$50 No Limit, and a weekly mixed-game rota that includes $10/$20 Drawmaha on Thursdays and a $5 PLO/Big O mix on Fridays. Grand Sierra Resort deals $1/$2 and $3/$5 No Limit alongside $3/$6 and $4/$8 Limit, and is nominally open around the clock — though the casino says the room may close between midnight and 9am depending on how busy it is. Atlantis runs the narrowest offer and the most promotion-heavy one: a single $1/$3 No Limit game with a $7 bomb pot called every half hour, $3 an hour in comps, and a progressive bad beat jackpot the room puts at $150,000.

The Nugget Casino Resort in Sparks is the gap. Its table-games page lists Ultimate Texas Hold'em with a progressive bonus, Face-Up Pai Gow Poker, Three Card Poker with a six-card bonus and Fortune Pai Gow Poker — four games with poker in the name, every one of them played against the house. There is no poker room, no waitlist and no tournament schedule anywhere on the casino's site. For a city of Sparks' size that is a genuine hole in the map, not an oversight in the listings.

What makes the three Reno rooms interesting is that they have not converged. Their tournament floors are three times apart. Atlantis runs a $20 event every day; Grand Sierra's cheapest is $50 and its biggest weekly is a $130 Mega Deep Stack on Saturday with $2,000 guaranteed; Peppermill states that its daily tournaments start at noon with buy-ins from $135 to $560. Stack them up and the week is covered without much overlap — Grand Sierra publishes a tournament on all seven days, Atlantis adds a daily $20 plus an $85 green chip bounty on Sunday afternoons, and Peppermill occupies the level above both.

Two dates are worth a trip rather than an evening. Peppermill's own eleven-day Fall Poker Palooza runs 6 to 16 November 2026. Atlantis' quarterly $25,000 guaranteed no-limit tournament plays two 10am flights on 21 and 22 November 2026 — the largest guarantee any Reno room publishes on its own site, though Atlantis does not state the buy-in on its poker page, so it is worth confirming with the room before booking.

One caveat on all of it: these are the casinos' own published offers as of 6 October 2026. Stakes, promotion values and tournament schedules in rooms this size change without announcement, and the two Reno properties that keep their detailed structures in separate downloadable documents can revise those at any time.
