Polish poker doesn't happen in casinos. It happens in pubs, and its big events are in Bratislava

The plan was simple: map Poland's card rooms the way we mapped Britain and Germany. It did not survive contact with the operators' websites.

**Casinos Poland publishes nothing.** It is the country's largest casino chain, with six venues — Bielsko-Biała, Katowice, Łódź, Warsaw's Hotel Presidential (the old Marriott), and two in Wrocław including one that opened recently on the Rynek. Its corporate site lists those addresses and stops. No games, no stakes, no schedules. The single mention of poker anywhere on the site is a house-edge percentage in the responsible-gambling section, which describes a banked table game, not a card room. Olympic Casino's Polish domain now redirects to a group corporate page with no Polish venues on it at all.

So we published no Polish venue pages. Poker in licensed Polish casinos is legal, and we have no doubt some of those rooms spread it — but we are not going to publish six pages implying a poker room on no evidence, for the same reason we did not invent Genting rooms in Britain or Bavarian card rooms that turned out to be table games.

**What we found instead is more useful anyway.** The Polish Poker Series runs a league and freeroll circuit across **26 cities**, most evenings of the week, starting between 18:00 and 19:00. Not in casinos — in pubs, billiard halls and restaurants: Hula Hop Pub in Kielce, Montownia Rozrywki Flop & Łuza in Warsaw, Cards Restaurant in Wrocław, Hades Pool Bilard in Poznań. League events feed a published national ranking; freerolls run alongside, some with guarantees, including a 2,000 złoty guaranteed freeroll in Bytom this month.

**And the money is abroad.** The organiser's partners are Legalny Poker Polska and Banco Kasyno in Slovakia, and its buy-in festivals are held at Banco Casino Bratislava — four events with large guarantees announced there for 2026. If you are a Polish player who wants a real prize pool, the tour you follow plays in another country.

That shape follows from the law. Online casino gaming including poker against the house is reserved to Totalizator Sportowy's state monopoly, trading as Total Casino, under the Gambling Act of 2009 as amended in 2017; private operators cannot be licensed for it, and the Ministry of Finance publishes a register of prohibited domains that providers block and payment firms must act on. A country that closes the online route and whose casinos advertise nothing leaves a gap, and a league circuit in pubs is what filled it.

**Three Polish players worth knowing**, all published this week alongside Wiktor Malinowski and Dominik Panka. Dzmitry Urbanovich won a WSOP bracelet in July 2026 in the $10,000 Eight-Game six-handed championship for $431,260 — a mixed-game title, which almost nobody wins without being genuinely good at five games they did not grow up playing. Sebastian Malec won EPT Barcelona in 2016 for $1,271,041 at 22, having qualified through a small online satellite, and was back finishing 21st in the same Main Event last month. And on the Swedish side, Viktor Blom — Isildur1, the most famous screen name in online poker — now spends his WSOP summers in Limit T.O.R.S.E., 8-Game and 2-7 Triple Draw rather than the no-limit games that made him.
