Mexico's live season is announcing bigger guarantees than its schedules
Four Mexican festivals announced between October 2026 and January 2027 carry MXN 24 million in combined guaranteed prize money — led by MXN 15 million for the Nuevo Vallarta Tour in January, the largest figure the circuit has published. In three of the four cases the money is announced and the tournament schedule is not.

The headline number belongs to the Nuevo Vallarta Tour, at Incanto Casino in Bucerías on the Nayarit coast north of Puerto Vallarta, from 15 to 25 January 2027. The circuit puts MXN 15,000,000 behind it and calls it the biggest guarantee in its own history. What it has not published is a single buy-in, start time or structure.
The Palace Series of Poker's Calaverita edition in Puebla, 22 October to 1 November, is further along. Its MXN 7,000,000 is already split five ways — MXN 4,000,000 for the Main Event, MXN 1,000,000 each for the Opener and the High Roller, and MXN 500,000 each for a Mystery Bounty and a Second Chance. Pot-Limit Omaha, Seniors and Ladies events are flagged without numbers attached, and the day-by-day programme is still to come. It is the tour's third straight year in the city.
Guadalajara supplies the other two. Life Poker Room at Casino Life holds its championship from 19 to 25 October with MXN 1,000,000 guaranteed on a MXN 3,000 buy-in, and has taken the unusual decision to put the whole week behind one Main Event with no side tournaments. Twin Lions Casino follows on 23 to 28 November with its 19th-anniversary tournament, also MXN 1,000,000 guaranteed, at MXN 4,000 for 35,000 chips — the deepest start of the four.
The one festival with a published structure is the smallest. Palace Poker Room's September Hold'em tournament in Puebla, MXN 400,000 guaranteed on a MXN 2,000 buy-in, ran its Day 1D on 25 September with 30,000 starting chips, 30-minute levels and late registration through level 8. Its Cancún sibling, MXN 1,000,000 guaranteed for MXN 3,500, opens on 29 September with late registration four levels deeper, through level 12.
For anyone planning a trip, the practical point is that an announced guarantee is not a schedule. Three of these four festivals have dates and a prize pool and nothing else, so the buy-ins, flight times and re-entry terms that decide whether the trip is worth making are still unknown. Guaranteed prize pools describe what the room has committed to put in play, not what any individual player should expect to take out.
