Four of Denmark's unverified casinos deal real poker — one deals none at all
Denmark's gambling register records casino licences, not the games dealt, so six of the country's seven land-based casinos carried an unconfirmed poker offer. Reading each venue's own pages settles it: Odense, Munkebjerg, Aarhus and Marienlyst deal player-versus-player poker, Casino Vesterport deals none and offers only a game played against the dealer, and Casino Aalborg could not be checked. The audit also turned up Casino Copenhagen's full event-by-event Mystery Bounty schedule for 10–15 November.
Denmark has seven licensed land-based casinos. Until today we could only say with confidence that one of them — Casino Copenhagen — dealt poker between players rather than against the house, because the national register at Spillemyndigheden records a licence category and an address, not the games on the floor. Reading the six remaining venues' own pages settles most of the question, and the answers are not uniform.
**Four deal real poker.** Casino Odense runs the busiest regular schedule in the country: Texas Hold'em no-limit tournaments every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 18:45, DKK 320 plus an DKK 80 fee on Tuesdays and most Saturdays and DKK 500 plus DKK 100 on Thursdays, each with a DKK 250 rebuy and a DKK 250 add-on. It also books its cash games like tournaments, with published start times and seat counts. Casino Munkebjerg outside Vejle is the festival centre of Danish poker outside the capital, running tournaments on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 18:30 in partnership with Danske Spil Poker, and publishing a full annual calendar — the Fall Poker Tour on 14–18 October 2026 at DKK 1,300 plus DKK 200, a Dansk Poker Tour stop on 19–22 November and a Jule Tour on 26–30 December. Casino Aarhus, the land-based Royal Casino on Store Torv, offers cash poker on Fridays, Saturdays and tournament days and a weekly Wednesday Poker Tour at 19:00 with a season points ranking. Casino Marienlyst in Helsingør keeps a dedicated poker room but runs just one tournament a week, Wednesdays at 19:30 for DKK 1,000 plus DKK 150.
**One deals none.** Casino Vesterport, a few hundred metres from Copenhagen's main station, lists its entire offer as roulette, slots, blackjack and UTH — and describes UTH itself as a poker-based game in which you play exclusively against the dealer. There is no poker room, no tournament schedule and no cash game. It is the clearest example in Denmark of the distinction that trips up casino listings across Europe: a venue can have poker on its game list and no poker a player would recognise. Casino Odense and Casino Aarhus both keep an Ultimate Texas Hold'em table too, but list it separately from their real poker, which is how it should be done.
**One is still open.** Casino Aalborg could not be checked. The domain we expected does not resolve, the Royal Casino group's main site is a single-page application behind a consent wall that does not yield its land-based pages, and the group path we tried returns a 404. Its poker offer stays marked unconfirmed rather than guessed at.
The near-term reason to care is in Copenhagen, where the Mystery Bounty festival runs 10–15 November 2026. The casino's registration system now shows the full event-by-event schedule: three Main Event flights at 16:00 on 11, 12 and 13 November at DKK 3,500 plus a DKK 450 fee with 200 seats each, three qualifiers at DKK 750 plus DKK 200, a freezeout on 13 November and a two-day event closing the week. Day 2 is on 14 November and the final day on 15 November.
Frequently asked questions
Which Danish casinos deal real poker?
Casino Copenhagen, Casino Odense, Casino Munkebjerg, Casino Aarhus and Casino Marienlyst all deal player-versus-player poker. Casino Vesterport does not. Casino Aalborg is still unverified.
Why does a Danish casino licence not tell you whether poker is dealt?
Spillemyndigheden's register records the licence category and the address, not the games on the floor. A casino can hold a licence and deal only Ultimate Texas Hold'em, which is played against the house.
Which Danish casino has the most poker?
Casino Odense runs tournaments three nights a week year-round; Casino Munkebjerg has the larger festivals and the bigger fields.
