How should you play these spots?
Small. Betting only folds the hands you were already beating and gets called by the ones that beat you, so controlling the pot and getting to showdown cheaply is usually worth more than two or three streets of aggression.
When does the logic not apply?
When the board is wet enough that the opponent has real draws, because then there are hands in the middle that need to be charged. WA/WB reasoning is specific to dry, static boards — misapplying it to a drawy flop simply gives free cards away.
