Uncapped range

A range that still contains the very strongest hands, giving its owner licence to apply maximum pressure. The pre-flop raiser is typically uncapped after the flop.
Example. On A-K-x the pre-flop raiser is uncapped (they can have A-A, K-K, A-K) and the caller is not, so the raiser bets frequently.
Range advantage is usually described in two parts: overall equity and 'nut advantage'. The player who is uncapped has the nut advantage and can bet larger and more often. Recognising who is capped and who is uncapped is central to modern bet-sizing theory.
