Triple Crown
Winning a title on each of poker's three historic circuits: a WSOP bracelet, a World Poker Tour main event and a European Poker Tour main event. Only a few dozen players have done it; Davidi Kitai was the first, and Niall Farrell is Scotland's member of the club.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Triple Crown in poker?
Winning an open event on each of the three historically dominant tours: a World Series of Poker bracelet, a World Poker Tour title and a European Poker Tour title. It is an informal honour rather than an organised competition.
Why is it so rare?
Because it requires three tournament wins against enormous fields, on tours that do not share schedules or regions. Only a handful of players have completed it, which is why the achievement is still noted whenever someone gets close.
Does it have a fixed definition?
No, and that is part of the debate — arguments recur over whether ladies' or seniors' events count, whether a side event qualifies alongside a main event, and how newer tours fit in. There is no governing body to settle it.
