Taking a long time over a decision ('going into the tank'). When it goes on too long, any player can 'call the clock' and the floor gives the tanker a fixed time — usually 30 seconds plus a countdown — to act or have the hand folded.

How long can you tank for?
Until someone calls the clock. Any player at the table may ask the floor for a clock, after which the tanking player typically gets around 30 to 60 seconds before the hand is declared folded. Events with a shot clock remove the question entirely.
Is tanking the same as Hollywooding?
No. Tanking is genuine thought; Hollywooding is performing thought you are not doing. The behaviour looks identical from across the table, which is precisely why the act exists.
