Push/fold

Also: push-fold, shove or fold, Nash ranges

The short-stack strategy of either moving all-in or folding pre-flop, with no raises or calls in between. Below about 12–15 big blinds it is close to optimal, and the exact ranges (often called Nash ranges) are well studied.

Example. With 9 big blinds on the button, a push/fold chart says shove any ace, any pair, any suited king and more.

With a short stack a normal raise commits so much of your chips that it makes little sense to raise-fold; shoving maximises fold equity and removes post-flop decisions. Push/fold charts show which hands to jam from each position at each stack depth, and calling ranges against jams. ICM pressure tightens these ranges near the money and at final tables.
