Implied odds
The odds you are getting on a call once you include the money you expect to win on later streets if you hit. Implied odds justify calling with draws that pot odds alone would reject.
Example. You need 4-to-1 to call with a gutshot but are only getting 3-to-1 — with 200 big blinds behind and a loose opponent, the implied odds make the call fine.
Pot odds compare a call to the current pot; implied odds add what the opponent will pay when your draw arrives. Small pairs and suited connectors play well with deep stacks because their implied odds are large: when they hit a set or a flush the opponent often pays a big bet. Implied odds shrink when the draw is obvious (a four-flush board), when stacks are short, or when the opponent is a good folder.
