Calling a bet with a weak hand, usually in position on the flop, with the plan of taking the pot away on a later street when the opponent shows weakness.
Example. Raiser c-bets a Q-7-2 flop, button calls with 9-8 suited and a backdoor flush draw, raiser checks the turn, button bets and wins.
Floating exploits players who c-bet almost every flop and give up on the turn. It needs position, because you rely on the opponent checking to you, and works best on boards where your call looks credible. Backdoor draws make excellent floats because they sometimes turn into real hands.
