Deliberately deviating from a balanced strategy to take advantage of a specific opponent's tendencies, such as folding too much to raises or never bluffing the river.
Example. A regular notices an opponent folds to 80% of turn bets and starts double-barrelling with almost any two cards.
Every exploit opens you up to a counter-exploit, which is why it should be based on real reads and not hope. Common exploits: raising far more often against a player who over-folds, calling down lighter against one who over-bluffs, and value-betting thinner against a calling station. Strong players think of GTO as the default and exploitation as the profit.
