Donk bet

Also: donk, lead, donking

Betting into the previous street's aggressor when you are out of position, instead of checking to them. Long considered a beginner's mistake (hence 'donk'), it has a legitimate place on boards that favour the caller's range.

Example. The big blind calls a button raise and leads out on 6-5-4 rainbow — a solver-approved donk bet.

The name comes from 'donkey' and reflects decades of conventional wisdom that the pre-flop raiser should be allowed to c-bet. Solvers changed that: on low, connected flops where the big blind's range has more sets and two pairs, leading out is correct at some frequency. Leading into the raiser on ace-high boards remains a mistake.
