What is the board in poker?
The community cards dealt face up and shared by everyone — three on the flop, one on the turn, one on the river. In Hold'em and Omaha you combine them with your hole cards to make a hand.
What is board texture?
How connected, suited and high the cards are. A dry board like king-seven-two rainbow offers few draws and favours whoever raised preflop; a wet board like nine-eight-seven with two of a suit is full of straights and flushes and plays very differently.
Does 'board' mean anything else?
Yes — in a card room the board is also the waiting list for seats in a cash game. 'Put me on the board for 2/5' means add me to the queue, not deal me cards.
