Barrel

To keep betting on successive streets. The flop bet is the first barrel, a turn bet the second, a river bet the third — and 'double barrel' or 'triple barrel' usually describes doing it as a bluff rather than for value.
Barrelling works because each street removes hands from an opponent's range. A caller on the flop holds plenty of weak pairs and draws; by the river most of those are either improved or unable to continue. The cards that make a second or third barrel believable are the ones that plausibly improved your range and not theirs.
The mistake beginners make is barrelling with the hands that have no equity but also no story — firing a third barrel on a card that completed nothing you could have been representing.
