What does action mean in poker?
Three things, depending on context. Whose turn it is to act ('the action is on you'); a bet or raise rather than a check or fold ('there was action on the flop'); and how much betting a game generates ('a game with plenty of action').
What is an action player?
Someone who bets, raises and calls far more than average. The phrase is usually approving — action players make games worth playing — and does not necessarily mean they play badly.
What does 'action out of turn' mean?
Acting before the player to your right has. It is a rules breach because it gives information to players still to decide; the floor may require the out-of-turn action to stand or be withdrawn depending on the house rules and whether the action behind changed.
