Steffen Sontheimer was the breakout star of the first Poker Masters in 2017, winning two of the five events — the $50,000 and the $100,000 finale for $1,512,000 — and taking home the inaugural Purple Jacket. A member of the German high-roller school around Fedor Holz and Rainer Kempe and now based in Brighton, he followed it with a fifth place in the €111,111 One Drop at WSOP Europe and, in November 2018, his biggest win: the $250,000 Super High Roller Championship at the Caribbean Poker Party for $3,685,000. Eighth on the German all-time list with $13.7 million in live earnings.
