Rio Poker Clube, Botafogo
Rua Dezenove de Fevereiro, 161 — Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro - RJ, 22280-030 · Rio de Janeiro · Brazil
A Rio de Janeiro poker club in Botafogo, trading since 2013 and one of the two clubs in the city that publish a tournament calendar of their own. It describes itself as a recreational space for socialising and says its purpose is to promote poker as a sport, through social contact, discipline and technique.
The published early-November 2026 grid is built around a R$100,000 Big Chance run over multiple qualifying flights: flights 1F, 1G and 1H each carry a R$100 buy-in for a 25,000 starting stack and run 18:00, 14:00 and 19:00 on consecutive days, with the final at 15:00 on the third day. Alongside it the club lists a free-entry Baratinho Free Jackpot at 15:00 with a 5,000 stack, and a 12K Deep Stack at 18:00 with a R$150 buy-in for 40,000 chips. The calendar carries a see-more control, so the published grid runs further than the week we read.
Entry rules are published: registration for both tournaments and cash games is done in person and requires photographic identification, nobody under 18 is admitted, and swimwear is not allowed. There is no parking on site; street parking nearby is the club's own suggestion. A full rulebook is published as a PDF we did not read.
The club's address is worth checking against anything else you find: directories carry it variously at Rua Álvaro Alvim 31 in Centro and at Rua Francisco Otaviano 42 in Copacabana, neither of which matches the Botafogo address on the club's own site. The Botafogo address above is the current one.
Brazil has no licensed land-based casinos, so poker is played here in a members' club under the game's standing as a sport of skill. Opening hours, table count and cash-game stakes are not published.
